Announcements

  • You find notes from class and lecture slides in the Class Notes section.
  • A copy of the textbook "DSP First - Second Edition" is on reserve in the Johnson Center Library. You can borrow the book for two hours at a time.
  • Midterm Exam is on Ocober 18. The exam is closed-book, closed notes. You may bring:
    • a single, one-sided, letter-sized sheet of notes,
    • a simple calculator; the calculator must not be able to plot or do complex arithmetic,
    • the "cheat-shirt" may be worn to the exam.
  • Practice Problems: Here is a list of problems that you can work in preparation for the exam. All problems are found in the "Homework" section of the DSP First website. All problems come with solutions so that you can check your work. These problems cover all essential topics that we covered in class.
    • Chapter 2 (complex algebra): Problems 13, 18, 21, 22, 48, 54
    • Chapter 2 (sinusoids and complex exponentials): Problems 15, 17, 24, 25, 27, 30, 35, 38
    • Chapter 3 (spectrum): Problems 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 31
    • Chapter 4: Problems 3, 7, 13, 17, 18, 29
    • Chapter 5: Problems 3, 6, 8, 12, 15, 27, 32
    • Chapter 6: Problems 7, 14, 15, 18, 20, 22
    Additionally, you should review homework assignments and solutions as well as in-class exercises and possibly look at the Old Exam Problems.
