Preparation

Work through the material in sections C.4.1 and C.4.2 and ensure that you thoroughly understand it.

MATLAB Warm-up

Solve the warm-up exercises in section C.4.2. It may be a good idea to do these exercises before you come to the lab, in particular, you should have a good idea how to program the function mychirp.

You should include the relevant results from the above commands in your report along with a link to your functions mychirp and beat.

MATLAB Exercise

Work the MATLAB exercise described in section C.4.3, i.e., Lab A. You are strongly encouraged, but not required, to work the exercise in section 4.3.3.

Document what you did in the report; include both MATLAB code and an explanation of what your code does. Also include the required plots, including spectrograms¹ . Don’t forget to explain what your plots show and any conclusions you can draw. Be sure to address the questions posed in the assignment. Questions pertaining to the sampling theorem may be skipped.

Report

The report is due one week after this lab and must include all the items mentioned above.
