 Previous: How does a signal
- Sampling converts an analog signal into a sequence of samples (numbers).
- For this sequence of numbers to be representable by a computer
  micro-processor, each
number has to be converted into a string of binary information digits
  or bits.
- Computers and other digital equipment can represent and process only
  information in binary form.
- Digital communication systems transmit information in binary form.
- The process of converting a sequence of numbers into binary form is called
  analog-to-digital conversion or A/D conversion.
